I photographed this sweet family of five in the most charming farmhouse setting, surrounded by white siding, rustic wood textures, and soft spring-like details. Everything about the session felt warm and effortless — mom in a white lace dress, dad in soft neutrals, their daughter in the sweetest floral dress, and the boys dressed in light, timeless tones that kept the whole gallery feeling calm and cohesive.

I loved the way this session moved between both posed and playful moments. The family gathered together on the stone steps. Mom holding her daughter close near the lights outside. A little pink flower being passed between mother and daughter. The children sitting together, smiling and leaning into each other. Dad and mom tucked close in front of the wooden doors. A little boy kissing his mother on the cheek. Those are the moments that make family photographs feel alive.


One of my favorite things about family photography is the way it holds both the big picture and the small details at the same time. The full family portrait that shows everyone together. The individual connections between a mother and child. The way siblings fit beside each other for just a second before they run off again. The way parents look at each other in the middle of raising little ones.

This session had such a beautiful mix of all of it — the sweet, the playful, the classic, and the in-between.

The farmhouse backdrop gave the gallery such a nostalgic feeling. The wooden doors, porch, stone steps, and soft outdoor light made the images feel like they could belong to any season, any year, any family album passed down and held onto. But what makes them meaningful is not just the setting. It is the people inside the frame.

Children grow quickly. Their smiles change. Their hands get bigger. The way they lean into you, reach for you, and laugh with you slowly shifts as the years move forward. Family sessions are a way of pausing long enough to remember what it felt like to belong to each other right now.
