A Glowing Sunset Maternity Session at Sunset Beach – Watsonville, CA


There are some places that just feel like home, even if you don’t live there. For me, that place is this white sandy beach, tucked quietly along the coast near Watsonville. It's one of my favorite spots to take my own family— a peaceful stretch of beach where the sun kisses the horizon just right and the waves hum a soothing rhythm. So when this beautiful family chose it for their maternity session, I knew magic was about to unfold. The weather was perfect for our session. As golden hour began to settle in, the beach transformed into a glowing dreamscape. The warm hues of sunset bathed the sand in amber and gold, and the soft sea breeze gently tousled the little girl’s curls as she twirled around in her sweet blue dress. Her laughter echoed in the salty air — innocent, joyful, and entirely free.

She was absolutely radiant, full of life and energy, proudly anticipating her role as big sister. Her tiny footprints danced along the shore as her mother, glowing in the soft evening light, held her hand. The father, calm and full of pride, looked on with love as his two girls laughed and played near the dunes. But the most special moment was yet to come.

As the family gathered on the beach a small pop broke the calm — and suddenly, the sky was filled with a burst of blue confetti! The soft paper pieces fluttered down around them like a blessing from above, confirming what their hearts already knew: they were expecting a baby boy.


The joy was palpable. The little girl squealed with excitement, throwing handfuls of sand into the air while her parents embraced, the ocean behind them glowing in the final moments of daylight. It was more than a gender reveal — it was a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful journey ahead. Afterward, we let the moment linger. The family played barefoot in the water, chasing waves and collecting seashells. Sand stuck to tiny toes and wet clothes clung to giggling bodies, but no one cared. These are the moments that make life full — messy, imperfect, beautiful.This session was more than just a photoshoot. It was a snapshot of a family in one of their happiest seasons — wrapped in love, bathed in light, and ready to welcome a new life into the world. Family beach sessions never disappoint. And this glowing sunset session? One for the memory books.
