It was the movement, sweetness, and joy of this family right in the middle of it.


This Oakdale almond blossom session was full of little moments that felt alive. Two boys walking hand in hand through the orchard. Mama gathering her children close in her floral dress. Dad holding twin toddlers in his arms, lifting his baby girl into the light, and laughing with the kind of joy that makes an image feel instantly meaningful. These are the photographs that feel like childhood — playful, warm, a little wild, and full of love.


I loved how naturally this gallery unfolded. The children had room to run between the blooming trees, wander over the petals, reach for one another, and settle into their parents’ arms when they needed a pause. Nothing felt too still or overly arranged. Instead, the orchard became a place for them to simply be together.


Some of my favorite images are the ones that feel small at first glance: little hands holding on, a boy smiling in the petals, a baby girl lifted high in her father’s arms, mama crouched close with her children around her, and the whole family wrapped together in the warm spring light. Those are the moments that tell the real story of a family — not perfect stillness, but connection.


There is something especially beautiful about photographing young children in the almond blossoms. The season itself is fleeting, and so are these ages. The way they run, the way they reach, the way they still want to be held, the way their little personalities fill every frame — it all changes so quickly.

That is why I love sessions like this. They are not just about pretty blooms or a beautiful location. They are about preserving the feeling of a season before it shifts again. The laughter, the closeness, the chaos, the tenderness, the soft spring light, and the ordinary love that will one day feel extraordinary.

My hope is that these photographs become part of this family’s story — images their children will one day look back on and remember how beautiful their childhood was.
