The orchard was quiet in that early-spring way — rows of almond trees covered in soft white blooms, petals scattered across the ground, and little ones moving through the branches like they had stepped into a storybook.
This session was tender and full of chaos in a way only a growing family can be. Five children, a set of twins, and one more baby tucked safely beneath mama’s heart. It was full of movement, sweetness, laughter, and the beautiful kind of chaos that belongs to a family in the middle of such a full season.
What I loved most was how naturally everything unfolded. Little hands reached for blossom branches. Tiny feet wandered through petals. Children wrapped themselves around daddy's legs, gathered close for snuggles, and drifted in and out of the frame with the freedom of childhood. Nothing needed to be perfectly still to be beautiful.
The wardrobe felt soft and springlike against the almond trees — delicate florals, pale pinks, creamy neutrals, little bows, and thoughtful details that gave the gallery such a romantic, heirloom feeling. The blossoms made everything feel light and dreamy, but the heart of the session was always the family: the way the children looked to their parents, the way the twins moved through the orchard together, and the quiet tenderness of a mother carrying one more little soul.
Pregnancy photographs feel especially meaningful when older siblings are part of the story. This baby is not arriving into empty space, but into arms already full of love. Into a family already rich with laughter, noise, tenderness, and little people waiting to know them. These images hold that in-between season — before everything changes again, while this chapter is still here to be remembered.
Some of my favorite moments from this session were not the perfectly arranged ones, but the honest ones: a toddler leaning into mama, children reaching upward into the blossoms, parents holding close in the orchard rows, and the sweet pauses between all the movement. Those are often the photographs that matter most years later because they show what life really felt like.
Almond blossom season is beautifully brief. The trees bloom for only a small window each year, and then the petals fall. That fleetingness makes these sessions feel even more special. They mirror family life in such a tender way — babies grow, children change, seasons shift, and the ordinary days become memories before we even realize it.
This gallery feels like a love letter to motherhood in the thick of it: full hands, full hearts, little ones all around, and a new baby already woven into the story.

If you are dreaming of soft, timeless family or maternity photographs among the almond blossoms, I would be honored to document this season for you. Almond blossom sessions in the Central Valley are perfect for growing families, motherhood, maternity, milestones, and anyone wanting photographs that feel romantic, nostalgic, and full of spring beauty.
Because blossom season is brief and beautifully dependent on Mother Nature, these sessions are limited and best planned in advance.
