With the hills stretching behind them and the last warmth of the day settling across the grass, the evening felt playful, relaxed, and completely their own.
Their children climbed into the Bronco, leaned through the open windows, and curled together across the back seat. There was no need to ask them to pretend they were having fun. Their excitement was already there.These were the kinds of photographs that felt like childhood. Wind-tossed hair. Small hands gripping the edge of the car. A brother and sister laughing together from the back seat. The freedom of being outdoors with nowhere else to be.Their daughter wore a white floral dress and a wide-brimmed hat, bringing a soft, nostalgic feeling to the session. Her little brother wore a simple white shirt and khaki pants, and together they looked perfectly at home against the warm grasses and muted tones of the Bronco. Some of the sweetest images were the ones that happened away from the car. The children held hands as they wandered through the field. They hugged beneath the trees, smiling with the unmistakable closeness of siblings who can make one another laugh as quickly as they can test each other’s patience.Their mother and daughter walked hand in hand through the tall grass in their soft white dresses. In another moment, her daughter wrapped both arms around her, holding tightly while the evening light warmed everything around them.
These quiet gestures are often the heart of a family session.
They reveal the way a child still reaches instinctively for their mother. The way a parent bends down to meet them. The tenderness that exists beneath the movement and noise of raising young children.
There were playful moments with Dad, too.
His son sat high on his shoulders, smiling down from above while they crossed the field together. Later, Dad stood beside the Bronco on his own—a portrait that felt relaxed and personal, preserving not only his place within the family but something he clearly enjoyed and took pride in.
The Bronco became more than a backdrop.
It gave the children somewhere to climb and explore. It created space for the family to sit close together. It added a layer of personality that made the photographs feel unmistakably theirs.
Even the children’s tiny ride-on vehicles made an appearance beside the full-sized Bronco—a playful little reflection of the family they were growing up within. These details might seem small now, but years from now they may be some of the most fun to remember.
